October 11 – 13, 2012 Creating Rural Connections Conference 2012 At this National Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation conference, Dr. Terri MacDonald presented lessons learned from the RDI's first year and took part in a national panel discussion on Regional Realities and Approaches following Peter Kenyon's key note presentation on lessons learned from Australia. To view the presentation click here.

Fall 2012 UNBC Speaker Series The Community Development Institute at UNBC's Community Speakers Series invites experts to talk on important and relevant topics for northern BC.  Dr. Terri MacDonald  presented on The Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute: Building Regional Capacity through Research & Innovation. 

June 11 – 14, 2013 Rural Resurgence: Innovative Solutions for the Attraction and Retention of Young Adults The RDI's Regional Innovation Chair in Rural Economic Development is partnering with Vancouver Island University's Regional Innovation Chair in Tourism and Sustainable Rural Development to host a national conference focused on attracting and retaining young adults to rural regions.  The conference will take place in Golden and will bring together young adults, community leaders, academics and policy makers.
